Vote No on Ann Arbor Prop C and Prop D
Posted onThe proposals I wrote about in July made it on to the ballot. I encourage you to:
- Vote No on Prop C (the non-partisan elections proposal) and
- Vote No on Prop D (the public financing proposal)
Additionally, it is notable that the Governor refused to approve these initiatives (something ballot proposals are required to seek, but not required to appear on the ballot) in part because Attorney General Dana Nessel issued an opinion that Prop D is not permissible under State law. If Prop D is passed, it is unlikely to be enacted, but is also likely to lead to time consuming and costly litigation.
Also notable is the League of Women Voters, an organization that generally supports non-partisan elections and public financing, closely studied both proposals and unanimously voted to recommend a no vote.
You can also learn more, sign up to host a lawn sign, donate or volunteer to help with the effort against these proposals with Democrats for Ann Arbor and Citizens for Fiscal Responsibility.
