Mob scene

The mass of trailers, vans and cables blocking the street this morning on my way into the office has become familiar: film shooting. As I walked by a trailer with “Meadow,” “A.J.,” and “Janice” on the doors, I realized I was walking through a Sopranos shoot. As I crossed the street, I caught a glimpse of Jamie-Lynn DiScala (Meadow) hopping up into the trailer. This was only my third celeb spotting in the city. First was Jody Foster (who shot scenes for her upcoming film in our neighborhood). The second was Michael Moore (who I’d met three times before so, *shrug*) coming out of the movie theater in the west 80s… Anyway…

When I was in NY around 2002, we were trying to come out of the subway around St. Mark’s, and we got yelled at because we walked right through the filming of Jason Schwartzman’s “Slacker.” I felt like “Fuck you, man, I just got off a train and I’m late for lunch. Film somewhere else!” while some PA was yelling that he was going to have us arrested.
