Catching Up

KatieI’ve spent the last week mostly recovering from my previous crazy-busy birthday week (during which both Lizz and the Beast were in Florida). A quick review:

DrupalCamp weekend was a blast. I learned a lot and met some great folks. Thanks to Noel for putting it all together and Brooklyn Polytechnic for hosting.

Immediately following DrupalCamp, on Monday, was the Personal Democracy Forum. More cool & interesting folks to meet. I need to finish my “local blogs” rant later (I was somewhat unsatisfied with that panel). I was going to write up a summary of the mobile text messaging panel but EchoDitto’s Jason did a good job of that. Other than that, my only take-aways are that Eliot Spitzer “gets” broadband and Elizabeth Edwards is a power user and video on the web is cool.

The rest of the week was mostly parties. Tuesday I got some work done and hit up NextNY (met a couple nice folks but it’s not that exciting an event) and then went to an after-party for the Crashing the Gate book launch. Wednesday was my birthday where I allowed my liver a day of respite and ate some bbq. Thursday I celebrated Ari’s graduation from Columbia J school and sent off Livshiz to the Hague to prosecute monsters.

Friday I flew off to Michigan, met my new cousin, hung out with friends in Ann Arbor and Southfield, family and fixed Grandma’s computer.

So like I said, this past week was mostly recovery. I really hope this sore throat goes away before I start my new job on Wednesday.
