Backpackers are a common site in the neighborhood, which is home to no fewer than four hostels, but on June 24th we’ll also see tents and campfires. The Park’s Department is sponsoring one night of “night hikes, s’more making, campfire games and wildlife searches.” The Great Hill, which is reached by a healthy climb up the stairs at Stranger’s Gate at W 106th, is one of the sites (via Gothamist). I wonder if neighbors can swing by and pick up a s’more.
