Restaurant mini-review: L’Exquisitous
Chris and I hit up a new addition to the neighborhood: L’Exquisitous (Manhattan Ave. at 107). Started by the owner of now defunct Gumbo and another partner, the menu is a mix of New Orleans cuisine (brought over from Gumbo), Haitian specialties and more standard cafe fare. And they have free wireless Internet. My muffaletta was delicious, even though they were out of the proper rolls. I plan to go back often.

I didn’t like the muffaletta as much as those at Gumbo Cafe. I think it’s a different olive mixture. Anyway, I have been several times and the employees don’t seem to know what they are doing and service is terribly slow. I hope now that the former Gumbo owner is spending more time there (I used to only see the other partner) things will get more professional.
