Home Sweet Brooklyn

Tuesday we packed the truck. Wednesday we drove it to east Jersey. Thursday we unloaded it into our humble abode in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. I acquired swimmers’ ear early in the week which, by Friday, was an all-out infection; why must I always go ill when we move? My brother David flew in on Thursday and helped us unload. We spent the weekend settling in, though I mostly slept after picking up four ’scripts from a doctor. Last night (Sept 11) we went down to the Brooklyn Heights promenade with Dacia and took in the Manhattan skyline, complete with two, huge spotlights shining straight up from ground zero, then hiked across the bridge and rode the train back. I finally got out today to get online and try to get some work done, since Time-Warner can’t seem to find a time between now and next Tuesday to install our Internet connection (boo!). I’m down in Williamsburg for the first time. The ratios from mostly poles to mostly hipsters as I walked south was interesting to observe. I’m at Fix, a coffee shop with free wifi where Apple laptops outnumber PCs. Am I home?

PC users need free wi-fi in the same way that women need men like fish need bicycles. What?

Congrats on your move…now what’s your address? Sorry about your infections. Sheesh. How’d you end up Swimmer’s Ear? Start taking your Zinc and Vitamin C!

We went swimming/hot tubbing w/ Erica at her hotel on Sunday in AA. Some water got lodged in there and the bacteria had a little party … and then I didn’t do anything about it till the following Saturday, so it was much worse than it really should’ve been…

Dang. My swanky hotel hot tub was the cause of badness. Sorry man. In other news, welcome to the Best State Evah! Enjoy our inefficent state goverment and lofty property taxes! Revel in our rockin’ politics and amazing pizza. You ARE home!
