Fundable
At SXSW I ran in to a guy I used to work with at the Daily (Forgot his name! He has red hair and glasses; former photog.) who was working on Fundable, which is a web based tool for organizing people to pay for something. I can see this being useful telethon-style fundraising on the web; for organizing purchases as a group; and for paying bounties for open source software development, among other things. They’ve built it using Plone and intend to release the code under an open-source license, so you could host it on your own server, if you’d like.
