We’re All Journalists Activists Now

I asked George if he wanted to go to the Grassroots Use of Technology Conference and he replied, “I’m not really an activist.” Not only is George an activist, he’s a community organizer. In the same way that new technologies are making media more participatory, they have the potential to make organizing and activism more paticipatory, open and community-centric. Much activism and organizing has copied the broadcast media. And like the ‘net is challenging broadcast paradigms, traditional organizing and activism is challenged, too.
