Your Genetic Ancestry

National Geographic’s Genographic Project is tracing human history by studying DNA from people all over the globe. Using “genetic markers,” scientists can trace the human evolutionary timeline. In addition to collecting DNA samples from widely dispersed indigenous peoples, individuals are invited to join the project and see their genetic tree traced back to our common human ancestor. To participate, you must order a Genographic Project Public Participation kit. What a cool way to raise money for, and engage the public in, such an interesting and worthwhile endeavor! Since Grandma sent me a check to help with this (thanks, Grandma!), maybe I’ll ask for a kit, instead.
